Dragoon Red on Brown Shouldered Jar


This is an authentically made replica of an ancient Dragoon Red on Brown jar that is held at the Amerind Museum in Dragoon, Arizona.



This is a replica of a jar found at the Gleeson Site during the excavations carried out m=by the Amerind Foundation in the 1930s. It was authentically recreated with locally dug clay, hematite pigment, hand coiled and outdoor fired just like the ancient people made the original. The size is 8″ x 6″. This jar was fired at the Archaeology Southwest field school in Cliff, New Mexico, you can see a video of the firing here https://youtu.be/TEI5_ogikuo
