This pot was made in the Ancient Potters Club as our November 2023 class project. It was all coil built with wild collected clays, painted with red ochre, white clay and mesquite bean paint. It was fired at a public pottery firing demonstration at Steam Pump Ranch in Oro Valley, Arizona on December 9, 2023.
The original pot was excavated at the Kuykendall Site near Turkey Creek on the western slope of the Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona. It now is on public display at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona.
