This is a replica of a prehistoric pottery type called “Mesa Verde Black on White”. 5.5″ x 4″ This mug was made using hand collected clays and organic paint from Arizona and Colorado, formed using the traditional coil and scrape method and was fired outside in a traditional smothered trench kiln firing.
Mesa Verde Black on White is a type of pottery that was made in Colorado and adjacent areas of New Mexico and Utah between 1150 and 1280 AD.
