This is a replica of a prehistoric pottery type called “Sosi Black on White”. 7″ x 7″ It was made using hand collected clays and organic paint from around the Southwest, formed using the traditional coil and scrape method and was fired outside in a traditional smothered pit fire.
FYI. There are a few places on this pot where the slip is flaking off.
Sosi Black on White is a type of “Tusayan White Ware” that was made in northern Arizona between 1050 and 1150 AD.
