This is a replica of a prehistoric pottery type called “Tularosa Black on White”. 14.5″ x 10″ It was made using hand collected clays and reduced iron mineral paint from Arizona, formed using the traditional coil and scrape method and was fired outside in a traditional smothered pit fire.
Tularosa Black on White is a type of “Cibola White Ware” that was made in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico between 1150 and 1300 AD.
